For fans for The Sims, you will be pleased to know that the fourth expansion pack for this highly famous game is out. "The Sims Vacation" is as the name suggests, a fun expansion pack for your Sims. Similar to Hot Date, the Sims Vacation offers an island where your Sims can escape to for a relaxing time. If your Sims family have kids, it will be even more fun.
As with The Sims game and expansion packs so far, the game play and graphics for Sims Vacation is great! A good part of this expansion pack is that you are able to save your game while on vacation. This way, you can remain in your holiday for more than one gaming session. After you've saved and exited from the game, you can come back to it by clicking on a little vacation icon.
To go on holiday, all your Sims needs to do is to call a cab using the house phone and select the vacation option. Soon, a cab will arrive and whisk the entire family off for a great holiday! The holiday destination map has nine options to choose from, each with a different theme such as forest, winter, or tropical. Your Sims can dip in an outdoor hot tub at a ski resort or camp out in igloos. Adult Sims can build a snowman together with their kids or start a snowball fight. For warmer climate, your Sims can don the skimpiest of bikinis and trunks for a frolic in the sun. I made my Sims play a great game of volleyball and it was absolutely good for their fun and social status. On this vacation island, there are plenty your Sims can do. You can even rent one of those metal detectors and hunt for treasures. If the thought of your Sims playing carnival games, building sand castles, fishing, and roasting marshmallows around a campfire appealing, then you will love the Sims Vacation. There are many things to do and there is always plenty of food around. Best of all, you don't need to clean up after a meal or make your own bed in the morning.
What I like best about Sims Vacation is the new interaction mode you have with the kids. Previously, your kid is just there… there isn't anything much you can do with him/her. But now, the interaction mode is so highly improved that your family can actually begin to feel like a real family. Adults Sims can scold a kid, hug them, and even play rough-house with them. Watching your adult and kid building a snowman together is a lovely moment. It leaves you with a warm fuzzy feel.
Your Sims can also play carnival games where tickets can be won in exchange of souvenirs. There are various numbers of tickets required in order to exchange for goodies. The availability of these souvenirs will remind your Sims of the great time they had while on holiday. Also, in Sims Vacation, you are able to interact with other tourists and even become real buddies with them. I tried wooing a stranger who shared a hot tub with me while at the ski resort… but the "man of the house" got jealous and well, pretty much bitch-slap (spoilsport!) the guy off the tub.
For that moment of fun, you've got to check out this expansion pack. It's a great addition!
