Free Xbox games for Xbox Live referrals

Microsoft look as if they've started their pre-Christmas push early by offering a promotion that enables existing Xbox Live members to bag a free game by recommending a friend to sign up to Xbox Live.

After Sony's successful launch of the slimline PS2, this seems like an excellent way for Microsoft to convince prospective buyers that the Xbox is the machine to get. Any current Xbox Live subscriber located in Europe has until January 2005 to introduce a friend to Live and they will receive a game of their choice from a selection.

Usually with offers like this the games available are ones that have sold poorly or are at the lower quality end of the scale, but Microsoft are offering some gaming gems.
