Final openSUSE 12.1 release candidate published
Aimed at developers, testers and early adopters, the second and final planned release candidate for version version 12.1 of openSUSE has been released. The golden master of 12.1 is scheduled for 11 November, with the final version seeing its public release on 16 November.
As expected at this stage, no new features have been added and the development team have focused on addressing bugs found in the previous builds and improving the overall stability of the operating system. The most annoying bugs page lists no known issues with the RC2. Users testing the release are encouraged to provide feedback and report any bugs that they encounter.
At the time of writing, an official announcement about the second RC has yet to be made on the project's news page or on the opensuse-announce mailing list. This second release candidate of openSUSE 12.1 is available to download for 32- and 64-bit systems from the project's developer portal. The current stable release of openSUSE is version 11.4 from March of this year.
