Facebook launches Dislike and Donate buttons

Facebook has started to roll out two additional features, Dislike and Donate buttons.

The Dislike button has been one of the most requested features by Facebook users. However, prepare to be disappointed, as Facebook is not making it available for regular posts, but rather as a sticker for the Facebook Messenger service. This means that users can only Dislike a post or comment in private conversations.

Facebook also introduced a new Donate button on the main website, allowing charities and good causes to accept donations from Facebook users. The Donate feature, which presently is available only to selected charities including WWF, Oxfam and Unicef, is intended to combat a culture of "slacktivism" that has built up around social networking in the non-profit sector.
