A distribution is (re)born: FKA Corel Linux

After what seems like an interminable wait, the newly formed Xandros Corporation announced that it has signed a strategic licensing agreement with Corel Corporation, giving it access to Corel's Linux desktop OS and related technologies. (The desktop applications, such as WordPerfect Office for Linux, remain with Corel.) Xandros was staked with US $10 million in venture capital by its founding parent, Linux Global Partners. Headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, and staffed with several of the former lead developers from Corel, Xandros is boldly targeting the market in which other distributions fear to tread: the typical desktop user in the home, school, corporate, or educational setting.
