Online hackers are taking advantage of the hype surrounding the upcoming Harry Potter movie by tricking people into divulging sensitive information in exchange for a free download of the film.

Security company PC Tools has noticed spam messages popping up in searches for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the penultimate movie in the hugely-popular franchise which will hit theaters Nov. 17.

The spam messages come with titles such as "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Full Movie Free Download Online," and contain fradulent Facebook posts reading, “Me and my wife watched this movie here. This movie is great =). The spam messages even offer the chance to win a free iPad. If users click on the spam, they don’t get a copy of the movie; instead, they are taken to another site, where they are asked to enter personal information, or to download what turns out to be a malicious toolbar that can collect passwords.
