Apple TV Jailbreak: Seas0nPass Now Allows Untethered Jailbreak

Ever since Apple TV began running iOS, it was a huge deal to know that it was going to be possible for hackers to easily jailbreak the set top box. The biggest pain of the jailbreak? It was tethered, this meant you had to physically plug your Apple TV into your computer via USB each time you wanted to reboot it. There have been some untethered Apple TV jailbreaks in that time, but today Seas0nPass is getting cord-free jailbreaking.

An update on the FireCore blog says the following: "Today we're happy to release an updated version of Seas0nPass (for Mac) that includes an untethered jailbreak for the AppleTV 4.1.1 (iOS 4.2.1) software."

The update uses the Chronic Dev Team's method for untethered jailbreaks. For now, it's not yet available for Windows, but should be coming soon, according to the blog.
