Apple dubs iPod touch 'best portable' for gaming
Apple's self-proclaimed "funnest iPod ever," the iPod touch, launched with a new message and a slew of new games that put the portable device in direct competition with the DS and PSP.
The proclamation came during one of Apple's annual "big reveals," where outspoken CEO Steve Jobs usually demonstrates new technology and software for an enamored tech journalist audience.
This time around, Jobs came armed with new iPod nanos, new iTunes software, and a sleek, metal-backed iPod touch 2.0. That last item--and by association the iPhone, which shares some of the same internal tech and interface--is the one Apple has chosen to be the standard bearer for its portable gaming efforts.
