9th Annual HITBSecConf in Malaysia Features Hackathon
On 10-13 October, the InterContinental hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will host the largest security conference in Asia, where for the 9th time, leading industry professionals from all over the world will gather for the Hack in the Box Security Conference.
“HITBSecConf’s main focus is on new and ground-breaking attack and defense methods that have not been seen or discussed in public before,” stated Dhillon Andrew Kannabhiran, founder and chief executive officer of the event. Apart from the usual conferences, technical trainings and research presentations, this year a special activity will take place that will unite all the top coders in a 24-hour hackathon. HackWEEKDAY debuts on the October 12 and it will end a day later, time in which Xandora.net Project, Dilligence, Mozilla Firefox plugins and other open source tools will be worked on.
Close to 1000 IT specialists are expected at the event which is announced to be something special because of the extra projects that will take place. “HITB is one of the few conferences I actually reserve time for a year ahead these days; excellent speakers and fantastic facilities in the gorgeous town of KL,” revealed Fredrik Soderblom, a former senior security adviser at Hewlett-Packard and who now owns XPD AB.
