Rockstar Reinstates Red Dead Redemption Hackers
Two months ago, Rockstar Games swung its banhammer, booting any Red Dead Redemption multiplayer outlaws in possession of hacked game saves. Today the developer announced it considers those cheaters redeemed, with time served, and is reinstating their access to New Austin. But be warned, Rockstar added, the banhammer is about to swing once again.
In a statement on the Rockstar newswire, the developer welcomed back those who had been kicked during the first Red Dead Redemption multiplayer purge, while reminding them to obey the laws of fair play. Rockstar then went on to say it's loading up for a second sweep.
"We have also detected some other rotten apples out there with hacked game saves who weren't initially banned, including those that were still attempting to play with hacked multiplayer save files," Rockstar stated. "These Gamertags and PSN IDs will now be penalized as part of a second wave of banning as such cheating is a clear violation of our code of conduct, punishable at our sole discretion."
