Off-Premise vs. On-Site Storage

As employees kick out ever-increasing piles of digital data, and regulations dictate what has to be saved, CIOs have found their storage needs -- and strategies -- changing.

Companies that once were content to back up files on tape every few days are discovering it is more effective to have a multipronged strategy that does not allow for any data to slip through cracks in the backup cycle.

Both options have advantages and drawbacks, and CIOs should weigh them carefully when trying to craft new storage policies.
