Stubbornly refusing to get worried about wireless security, the world is to get a kick up the bum from this week, from an organisation called "The Worldwide Wardrive" - trying to encourage us to take it seriously.
Worldwide WarDrive II starts this Saturday and runs until the 2nd of November. Even if you just found out about it check out the site to see if there is an organized event in your area, if not send them a e-mail you can go solo-driving for wireless access points. The goal is to drive the globe and map all the APs.

Intel will invest $150 million in companies developing 802.11b and other wireless networking products, the chip maker has announced.

Positioning technology company Ekahau has released an updated version of its software, which allows devices to be physically tracked when they are connected to an 802.11 WLAN network.
The Ekahau Positioning Engine (EPE) 2.0 can locate 802.11-connected wireless PDAs, laptops and other terminals--including voice over IP telephones--to, the company claims, within about a meter.

reaper: this is the lamest attempt to try to fool a true WI FI hacker so don't waste your money or time buying this unit they need to go back to there other security scams. so just fix your access point and don't waste your money. So I say don't mark Pooh. I say mark fool. just my thoughts.....
