Turkish hacker pinches passwords from Vodafone Iceland

Vodafone Iceland has been hacked and 77,000 customer records spaffed across the internet.

The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service ruv.is reports that the hack became apparent on Saturday. By Sunday Vodafone Iceland had 'fessed up to the incident but denied other reports that personal details including bank account numbers and passwords had been revealed to the world.

Vodafone, Verizon confirm talks, say 'no certainty' deal will be reached

Talks continue between Verizon and Vodafone over the potential buyout of the U.K. carrier's 45 percent stake in joint venture Verizon Wireless, which could move the companies closer to completing negotiations which have been on the table for years.

However, an agreement does not seem likely in the near future despite worries that interest rates could eventually make the buyout too expensive.

Vodafone to roll out mobile payments with Visa

Vodafone and Visa have announced a worldwide partnership that will enable the carrier's subscribers to pay for goods and services using their mobile phones instead of coins and banknotes.

The deal will see the two companies working together to develop a Vodafone-branded proposition that will be offered to consumers across Vodafone's customer base of 398m subscribers in more than 30 countries on five continents. The service will run on Visa's payment network and will use the payments network's product suite and brand.
