A conservative member of British Parliament who had urged shutting down social networks during the riots says hacking groups made threats against her children.

Louise Mensch, in a post on Twitter from New York Monday, said the groups Anonymous and LulzSec made the threats in an e-mail, The Guardian reported. She did not provide specifics but said the threats were designed to keep her from using the network, as she does often.

The alleged LulzSec computer hacker Jake Davis may have had his ‘secret’ identity revealed by a rival on the Xbox games console.

It is unclear how Davis was identified but in a leaked online conversation yesterday LulzSec's leader, who goes by the name Sabu, suggested it was an embarrassing source for a highly tech-savvy teen.

A week after 70 law enforcement agencies were defaced and attacked in what was known as Fuck FBI Friday, Anonymous and LulzSec have released another massive amount of confidential data, this time targeted at US police officers in what they're now calling Shooting Sherrifs Saturday.

Over 10GBs of information has been leaked including hundreds of private emails, password information, address and social security numbers, credit card numbers, informant details, police training files and more.

Hacker group LulzSec ("the world's leaders in high-quality entertainment at your expense") has had its initial Google+ account nixed this week, though LulzSec has quickly and brashly re-emerged with a new one.

A British judge has released Jake Davis -- more commonly known as "Topiary" -- on bail Monday, however he has been banned from using the Internet as a condition of his release. Davis was apprehended last Wednesday by the Metropolitan Police as part of a larger effort against LulzSec and Anonymous.

A London court heard this morning how 18-year-old Jake Davis allegedly had the login passwords of 750,000 people on his computer when he was arrested in the Shetland Islands last week.

Davis is suspected by the authorities of being "Topiary", the public face of the Anonymous and LulzSec hacktivist groups.

British police have tonight named the teenager they arrested in Shetland last week, in relation to the LulzSec and Anonymous hacking groups.

Jake Davis, 18, will appear in court on Monday charged with five offences including unauthorised computer access and conspiracy to carry out a DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack against the SOCA website.

As 'promised' earlier this week via Twitter, Anonymous and LulzSec have released another treasure trove of documents, this time stolen from managed security services firm ManTech International, an FBI service contractor.

The nearly 400MB torrent released on The Pirate Bay titled Fuck FBI Friday III: ManTech contains a mix of XLS and Word documents mainly relating to NATO, which AntiSec claims clearly show how ManTech are wasting tax payer's money.

Earlier today the blogosphere lit up with news that "Topiary" a key hacker from Anonymous and LulzSec was arrested.  Topiary, along with "Sabu", was viewed as a LulzSec "chief", instrumental in orchestrating the group's many sophisticated attacks.  But all may not be as it seems.

If the arrested man was indeed LulzSec's Topiary, he couldn't have picked a much more perfect lair.  Much like a James Bond villain, the alleged hacker was arrested on a remote island -- one of the Shetland Islands, off the north coast of Britain's mainland.

Police in the U.K. have arrested the man they believe has been serving as the unofficial spokesperson of the hacktivist group LulzSec.

The 19-year-old suspect, who uses the online alias "Topiary," was arrested Wednesday at a home in the Shetland Islands, located off the northeast coast of Scotland, and was booked at a London police station, according to a statement. In a recent interview inside an internet chat room, Topiary was asked by Salon.com reporter Peter Finocchiaro whether he feared arrest.
