Codemasters warns customers after hackers steal data

Codemasters, the UK-based video game development company, has fallen foul of hackers, who have broken into their network and stolen customer information.

In an email sent to customers, Codemasters explained that the intrusion was detected on Friday June 3rd, and users are urged to change their online passwords and keep an eye open for scams which might exploit the stolen information.

Sony Portugal latest to fall to hackers

The same Lebanese hacker who targeted Sony Europe on Friday has now dumped a database from Sony Portugal.

The hacker claims to be a grey hat, not a black hat, according to his post to pastebin.com.

"I am not a black hat to dump all the database I am Grey hat"

Instead of dumping the entire database like many previous Sony attackers, idahc only dumped the email addresses from one table in Sony's database.

Citigroup says hackers accessed bank card data

Citigroup Inc. says computer hackers breached the bank’s network and accessed data on hundreds of thousands of bank card holders in the latest of a string of cyber attacks on high-profile companies. Citigroup said about 1 per cent of its card customers were affected by the breach, which a report in the Financial Times said had been discovered in May during routine monitoring.

18-year-old star hacker arrested in Greece

Police in Greece have arrested an 18-year-old star hacker suspected of breaking into the website of crimefighting agency Interpol and a number of US state agencies, a senior officer said on Wednesday. The unidentified teen, who reportedly lives with his mother in the working-class Athens district of Agios Dimitrios, had originally broken into the Interpol site when he was just 15 years old.

LulzSec Hacks Security Firm Black & Berg, Turns Down $10,000 Prize

No reward necessary, the Lulz are enough. When cybersecurity consulting firm Black & Berg issued a challenge to hackers to change the picture on their website for a $10K reward and a position working with senior advisor Joe Black, LulzSec was more than happy to oblige. But LulzSec has said they won’t be collecting the reward, leaving the message “Done, that was easy. Keep your money. We do it for the Lulz.” on the Black & Berg homepage.

Canadian Conservative Party's website hacked

Hackers took control of the Canadian Conservative Party's website, changing it to read falsely that PM Stephen Harper had been rushed to hospital. Mr Harper's office later said he was in good health and had not choked on a fried potato dish.

Canadian media attributed the hack to a person or group called LulzRaft, which boasted of the feat on Twitter. The Canadian Conservatives, who had led a minority government since 2006, won a parliamentary majority in May.
