Magento Marketplace users were informed this week that a vulnerability allowed an unauthorized third party to gain access to some account information. The breach was discovered on November 21 and the service was temporarily shut down to address the security issue.

Magento Marketplace is a repository where users can find free and paid extensions and themes for the e-commerce platform. Adobe in May 2018, announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Magento for $1.68 billion. An investigation into the circumstances of the breach revealed that it impacted names, email, MageID, billing and shipping address, and phone numbers.
