Xbox 'hacker' makes court appearance

A Perth teenager who allegedly listed a new gaming console prototype on eBay before it was released has made a brief appearance in court.

The self professed "hacker", who was 17 at the time of the alleged crimes, faced the Perth Children's Court on Friday morning.

He was charged in May following a February raid on his home in which computers, hard drives, phones and bank cards were confiscated. The teenager previously told Fairfax Media the raid followed a visit from a Microsoft representative who, he claimed, travelled from the US after he listed a prototype of the next-generation Xbox console on eBay.
