Windows Vista Beta 2 Public Download Available NOW
Microsoft today has made public six versions of Windows Vista Beta 2. These versions are available in English, German, and Japanese languages and in both x86 and x64 versions.
All the servers worldwide (Singapore, Redmond, California Server Farm, Dublin, and India) have been prepped and the public Beta 2 of Windows Vista is ready to download. There is no public release for Windows Server "Longhorn" as yet.L33tdawg: I've been playing with Beta 2 since the release at WinHEC and so far it's certainly much improved over 5365 and 5342. However, there are still no WDDM drivers from Intel for the Intel 945GM and GMA 950 which in turn means you don't get the nice Aero interface, only Vista Basic. I really don't understand why Intel is being such an ass about the drivers! ATI and nVidia have both been releasing drivers for Vista ages ago! Apart from the graphics issues there have been some random crashes and BSOD's mainly due from 'force installing' currently incompatible Windows XP drivers/software.
