Windows Phone 7 jailbreak set for launch
Another Windows Phone 7 jailbreak is on the way after Microsoft releases the platform’s first update, allowing users to do things like side-load applications add ring-tones and manage apps.
A report on winrumours revealed that Windows Phone developer Julien Schapman, who previously worked on the platform’s TouchXperience software, is the man behind the forthcoming jailbreak, the first to appear for WP7 since the ill-fated ChevronWP7 late last year.
In an email to the site, Schapman said he was working on the Windows Phone 7 Device Manager to create homebrew apps for the community without having to pay the $99 subscription, although he as understandably cautious about releasing too many details in case Redmond was able to address the jailbreak in its first update.
