WiFi guys find hospitals a nice niche
Remember all those companies that were going to build-out giant WiFi grids in cities or condo developments or office parks? Want to know what happened to them?
The smart ones went to the hospital.
Mobile Access is one such smart company. Vice president Jeff Kunst says the 10-year old company now has a heavy focus on hospitals, which offer the complexity and maintenance money he needs to turn a profit.
“Health care had the most users that were mobile, the longest use of wireless technology, and the widest variety of wireless technologies in place,” he explained. L33tdawg: I really do hope no hospitals in Malaysia are thinking of deploying this. Knowing the lackadaisical attitude of most Malaysian companies towards security, having a shared network with therapy and patient monitoring data flowing across it sounds like a recipe for disaster imho.
