What 1.7Ghz Is Like

Intel has finally announced their 1.7GHz Pentium 4 processors. The most amazing part is it seems like we're most certainly going to see a 2GHz proc before year end, and only a year ago we were breaking the 1GHz barrier. AnandTech has a review of the
Pentium 4 1.7GHz and they compare it to the recently released AMD Athlon 1.33GHz. I was reading in my latest issue of MaximumPC and they had a small piece in there that stated it may be very likely that Intel is going to announce a socket change before we see 2GHz. I know if they do announce a socket change, I'm gonna be glad I didn't upgrade to a Pentium IV!
