With its enigmatic silver plastic case, the new Sony Micro Vault looks as though it could be anything from a felt-tipped pen to a prop for the next James Bond movie.

The Micro Vault is, however, a stylish pocket-size data storage device that plugs into a computer's USB port and works with both Windows and Macintosh systems.

The Micro Vault can hold up to 128 megabytes of information, making it a handy option for carrying around large files like digital pictures and MP3 songs. The removable cap protects the USB connector, and for Windows 2000 and XP users, security software included with the device can create a password to protect the stored data.
