Raspberry Pi closes in on 2.3 million sales
Pocket computing rocket, the Raspberry Pi has had a strong December sales patch and is now close to a total of 2.3 million units sold.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation took some time to reach sales of one million and not much more time to reach two million. Now, in the run up to Xmas sales are coming thick and fast.
Foundation head Eben Upton spoke of the numbers on Twitter. "Phew. Looks like another 10K @Raspberry_Pi units just arrived at Farnell. We survived the Christmas rush :)" he said in a tweet earlier today. Later he added, "We'll have to tot up in the New Year, but this month looks like a record. We might make it to 2.3 million by end of December."
