Nokia N9 Caught Running Android Ice Cream Sandwich

A bunch of hardcore Nokia hackers and developers are currently working on a usable port of Ice Cream Sandwich for the Nokia N9, which uses the now-defunct Meego operating system.

The N9 comes with the Harmattan user interface and a 3.9-inch touchscreen that has no physical button (just what Ice Cream Sandwich needs).

Alexey Roslyakov, part of the NITdroid team, has posted a few pictures (via the Verge) as well as a video of the device running Android's forthcoming mobile operating platform. It's worth noting that the team is working on a dual booting setup that will keep MeeGo. Some have noted that the N9 hardware is underpowered for Ice Cream Sandwich. The N9 comes with a single core TI OMAP3630 Cortex-A8 based SoC with the SGX530 and 1GB RAM.
