New Windows will have touch-screen
The latest version of Windows will boast touch-screen technology, it has been revealed. Microsoft Windows 7 will allow users to interact with their PC by touching the screen to drag files, scroll through web pages or zoom into pictures using technology currently available on the iPhone.
PCs capable of supporting touch technology are already on the market, including HP TouchSmart and the Dell Latitude XT. Engineers working on the software promise it will be a 'first-class way to interact with your PC alongside the mouse and keyboard'.
Carole Theriault from internet security firm Sophos said previous Windows launches – such as Vista in 2007 – had been dogged by glitches because hackers target the market-leading software more than rival products.
