Move Over Palm, Handspring is Going "Platinum"

The folks at Handspring gave us one of their brand new Visor Platinum's to review. Priced at $299 US, it sports a 50% faster processor than previous models, 8 Megs of RAM, and the Ultra Expandable Springboard Expansion Slot. Here's a clip:

"As a long time Palm user I was anxious to try out Handspring’s latest offering, the Visor Platinum. The Visor Platinum uses the same Operating System as all of its other siblings including the Palm, meaning that it can take advantage of a large and growing collection of software right out of the box. The Visor Platinum is touted as being 50% faster than any of its predecessors, including offerings from Palm, but I don’t know anyone who has claimed that their Palm is slow so I can’t really say that the speed would be a selling feature, although I did notice that the Grafiti (the Palm OS’s text input method) did seem to be a lot more responsive. What I was really looking forward to trying out was the Handspring Springboard Expansion Slot!"
