Microsoft sends out another IE8 build to testers
In August, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 to the public. Testers have continued diligently reporting bugs to the software giant, but the company didn't release a later build for quite a while. Only last week did Redmond finally send out the first Release Candidate (build 8.0.6001.18343 for those keeping track) to its testers on Microsoft Connect. The build is English-only and is not available to the public.
The latest build is visibly much more polished and easily deserves the Release Candidate moniker. Still, I'm not surprised in the slightest that Microsoft did not give this build a wide release: there are still crashes every once in a while and minor bugs that need to be ironed out. Microsoft is planning a public Release Candidate build in the first quarter of 2009 and then a final build soon after.
