Microsoft Responds to Jailbreaks

A couple of days ago I posted a story about the jailbreak tool called, WP Device Manager. [New Jailbreak Tool WP Device Manager is in the Works] Now Microsoft is responding by giving jailbreakers a T-shirt and a free phone from Microsoft.

Apparently, Microsoft representatives have met with Windows Phone 7 jailbreakers in an effort to clear up problems about how they can support “homebrew” apps, those apps from third-party software that doesn’t require the approval of Microsoft, in such a way that benefits both parties.

According to a Microsoft Spokesman, “Microsoft is interested in further understanding the “Home Brew” developer community’s perspectives on Windows Phone and invited a few members to our Redmond campus last week for an exchange of ideas.”
