Microsoft to host Indian cryptography meet
Eighty students from institutes like the IITs, IIIT, and BITS Pilani will spend three weeks at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore, debating complex concepts in game theory, cryptography, and number theory.
Announcing the launch of a summer school organised by Microsoft Research India in association with IISc and IIT (Madras) here on Thursday, Microsoft Research Lab India Managing Director P Anandan said, ‘‘We’re hoping to encourage students to take up careers in research, especially in subjects like Mathematics. The summer school is a step in that direction.’’ To be held between May 22 and June 10, the summer school will focus on algorithms, complexity and cryptography. It will include lectures and tutorials by leading academicians and subject-experts.
