Kim Dotcom offers to come to US rather than be extradited
Even though he has been busy accusing Vice President Joe Biden of orchestrating the raid on his home (a charge since denied), having pool parties, and producing ridiculous rap videos, Kim Dotcom now says he’s ready to come to the United States, rather than be extradited, as a way of speeding up the entire judicial process in his international copyright case.
On Tuesday, the New Zealand extradition hearing for Dotcom and his co-conspirators charged with copyright infringement, Mathias Ortmann, Finn Batato, and Bram van der Kolk, was postponed until March 2013. In early 2012, Dotcom’s site Megaupload was shuttered and his assets were seized as ordered by American authorities. He’s been involved in legal wrangling in New Zealand, where he lives, ever since.
“Hey DOJ, we will go to the US,” Dotcom declared on Twitter on Wednesday. “No need for extradition. We want bail, funds unfrozen for lawyers & living expenses.”
