Keeping the noise down

The latest IDE drives in the market are unable to surpass their predecessors in terms of performance, but showed considerable improvement in noise and temperature reduction. Seagate's Barracuda ATA IV is particularly impressive with low noise levels and strong performance. I personally cannot say much about it since I burnt mine about 2 days after getting it.
