How to write an Athlon 64 press release
IF YOU'RE PLANNING to offer an AMD Athlon 64 system, you'll have to adhere to a very strict set of guidelines, according to documents seen by the INQ today.
And you'd better get your skates on too, because Sarah Beck and Jeff Lowe must see them before Tuesday September the 9th.
Jeff and Sarah have some helpful guidelines on writing a release, which may save you the cost of hiring one of those expensive spin doctors you're always reading about.
Avoid superlatives! Sarah and Jeff say that "The AMD Athlon 64 processor is an incredibly reliable system for..." is right, while "The AMD Athlon 64 processor is the greatest, most stable, most reliable system" is quite wrong.
They also make use of the incredibly ugly word "prosumers", who apparently are "driving the demand for higher performance cinematic computing into mainstream consumer households". Prosumers! Ugh!
Prosumers will "get faster digital video playback and editing in addition to 3D modelling".
Jeff and Saz helpfully provide a sample release headed "Acme Inc announces new product to support the AMD Athlon 64 processor".
