Gates announces new security initiatives at RSA conference
Making Windows more secure is Bill Gates' current obsession, but doing so will take quite a bit of effort and a boatload of new Microsoft products that are designed to plug holes and shore up the many weaknesses in its desktop and server operating systems and applications.
At the 14th annual RSA conference in San Francisco this week, Bill Gates announced several new Microsoft products aimed at increasing desktop and network security. The good news is that the software giant is trying hard to improve its products. The bad news is that you'll need to buy many of them to harden your corporate network, including investments in Microsoft's System Management Server (SMS), Active Directory, and new products that work with its Windows Servers.
