LG announced it’s launching the V20 in September, making it the first smartphone to come out of the box with Android 7.0 Nougat.

As a result, LG might beat Google to the punch when it comes to releasing the first phone with Android Nougat. Google announced the Nexus 5X and 6P at the end of September last year, and if the company keeps the same timing, the V20 should be to market before any new Nexus phones. (Still, Google has hinted more software enhancements are coming to the Nexus line, so it ought to be worth the wait.) Naturally, current Nexus phones will get an update to Nougat before any new phones ship with it.

The LG V20 is a follow-up to the V10, which was definitely an outlier with its dual screen and front-facing cameras. LG says those features will return, along with a 32-bit digital-to-analog converter. This is a first for a smartphone, and promises to enhance the audio experience.
