F-Secure to Provide File Encryption Solution for New Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3800
F-Secure Corporation today announced that it has signed a software license and distribution agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) to provide data protection for the new Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3800 Series handheld PC. The agreement provides for F-Secure's new file encryption product, F-Secure FileCrypto for Pocket PC Personal Edition, to be distributed as part of the standard package on all Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3800 models introduced today.
Compaq today unveiled a new member of its award-winning iPAQ Pocket PC family, offering unsurpassed performance and expandability to meet the widest range of handheld computing needs. The new Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC H3800 Series offers integrated Bluetooth personal area networking features, a standard Secure Digital (SD) Memory slot for internal expansion, a brilliant TFT screen with more than 65,000 colors, and 20 percent longer battery life. The new product preserves the same outstanding features as the acclaimed H3600 Series, while incorporating Pocket PC 2002 software from Microsoft.

F-Secure FileCrypto for Pocket PC Personal Edition has been specifically developed to protect stored data in Compaq iPAQ Pocket PCs. With the application, iPAQ Pocket PC users can create secure folders for storing confidential and personal information. The product also protects data on removable media, such as memory cards and microdrives. All sensitive information is encrypted with strong encryption and remains safe, even if the device is stolen or lost.

For protecting Compaq iPAQ Pocket PCs in demanding corporate use, where fully automatic data protection and secure user authentication is required, F-Secure offers F-Secure FileCrypto for Pocket PC Enterprise Edition, available through F-Secure and selected Compaq sales units.
