Dell buys security start-up SonicWall for undisclosed sum

Dell has announced today that it has acquired security vendor SonicWall for an undisclosed price with the acquisition expected to be completed within the next 60 days.

SonicWall claims to have over 300,000 customers using its array of firewalls, secure remote access plus back up and recovery tools. John Swainson, president of Dell software group, indicated the acquisition would help fill their growing security line and would put Dell in a great position in the fast-growing parts of the software security business world.
