Child porn on computer of security expert not the work of hackers

A Calgary security expert — not a hacker — is the only person who could have put child pornography on his computer, the prosecution argued in court Thursday.

Daniel Clayton, 30, is charged with accessing, possessing and distributing child pornography.

The defence’s contention a malicious hacker deposited thousands of images on Clayton’s computer and participated in several explicit web chats doesn’t raise reasonable doubt about his guilt, Crown prosecutor Jenny Rees said during her final submissions before Queen’s Bench Justice Kristine Eidsvik. “Defence must do more than raise hypothetical scenarios” said Rees,
