Buffalo updated its Terastation 5000 line of network attached storage (NAS) systems today, announcing models that will come preloaded with Trend Micro antivirus software to protect data from security vulnerabilities in real time.

Aimed at small to medium businesses, the Terastation 5000 Anti-Virus TS5000V is available in 4TB, 8TB and 16TB versions. Buffalo claimed that the devices are the only models of their kind on the market to support real time scanning with the Trend Micro antivirus software.

"This ensures that data is constantly monitored and, in the case of a virus, an alarm is immediately raised and infected files are automatically removed and saved to a protected folder to prevent the virus [from] spreading." Buffalo said.
