Argus Cyber Security, which specializes in automotive security, has expanded its collaboration footprint to advance the adoption of cybersecurity in connected and autonomous cars.

A partnership with Elektrobit (EB) will focus on the safety and cybersecurity of automotive electronic control units (ECUs), which are the embedded systems that control a vehicle’s core functions. And, the Argus Connectivity Protection suite has been combined with the highly-integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 820A processor.

Events over the past year have highlighted a growing concern regarding the vulnerability of connected vehicles to cyber-attacks, and leading industry organizations have issued guidelines and best practices for automotive cybersecurity, all encouraging the automotive industry to be aggressive. New standards—including ISO 27034-1 for the development of secure cloud applications and the planned expansion of the AUTOSAR standard with the definition of additional aspects of secure communication—also illustrate the increasing significance of cloud security in the industry.
