FRENCH WEBSITE TT hardware tests the Pentium 840EE and its sibling the Pentium D 840 processor. They start with a wise expression from the car industry. Power sells cars and torque make them move. They go on to show what others have already showed before. The various advantages of the Intel's dual core technology. Can't beat AMD in mono-threaded games but interesting performance in others.

Another French website, PresencePC has also written a paper on the same subject matter. Covering the i955x chipset at the same time, they speak about the paradigm shift that Intel and AMD have triggered. From now on, software manufacturers will have to take into consideration the existence of Dual Core and HT when designing their stuff. A wise advise from them: look at your apps and then buy your CPU.
