AMD rolls out its fastest mobile processor

SUNNYVALE, Calif.
-- Hoping to keep up with rival Intel Corp. in the mobile space, Advanced Micro Devices Inc. here today announced its fastest microprocessor for notebook PCs and other products.
The new Athlon XP 1800+ mobile processor from AMD is a 1.53-GHz chip, based on the company's new 0.13-micron process technology. Previously, the company's fastest mobile processor was the Athlon XP 1700+, a 1.47-GHz chip.
