According to Graham Cluley, Senior Technology Consultant at Sophos the security company, the most recent e-mail scam against users of Google mail aims at those who may fear that failure to reply to one particular e-mail can lead to their inability for using own Gmail accounts. Infosecurity-magazine.com reported this on February 2, 2011.

Addressing the users of Gmail, the fake electronic mail states that because Google allows users to register to its e-mail service anonymously, the company will eliminate each and every Gmail account which's lying unused. Therefore, it's necessary that the accountholder confirms whether he's still using his account by providing his login details through return e-mail otherwise he'll find his account deactivated in 24-hrs for the maintenance of security.
