Although Twitter is looking for an engineer to implement two-factor authentication for its users, it still won't prevent a repeat of the recent attack that saw 250,000 users exposed, according to OneID founder Steve Kirsch.

American Express lets Twitter users shop via tweet

American Express is rolling out a new service on Twitter that lets card holders make purchases on the social network through specialized tweets.
Dubbed "Amex Sync," the technology integration will allow Amex users who sync their cards with Twitter to buy products just by including special hashtags. It launched on Monday with an offer for discounted Amex gift cards and will expand to include a range of physical products from companies including Amazon, Sony, Urban Zen and Microsoft's Xbox business.

Sophisticated cyber-attackers may have gained access to password, usernames and other information, which prompted Twitter to unilaterally reset the passwords of 250,000 subscribers to the social network.
Twitter was forced to reset the passwords of 250,000 of its users after it discovered that hackers breached the social network's security.
