Finland: Plan for universal 100Mbps service by 2015 on track
Back in 2009, Finland announced what might be the world’s most ambitious national broadband plan: a guaranteed minimum service level of 1Mbps for all homes and companies by 2010. That goal is then planned to be kicked up to 100Mbps, served via a fixed connection or wireless, by 2015 (Google Translate).

China goes from zero to 200 million 3G users in only three years
China's 3G development continues to grow apace, with the number of local users climbing past the 200-million mark as of September this year.
Sina Tech, citing statistics from the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), reported Wednesday the subscriber base grew from 192.5 million in August to 202.6 million in September.

Over 20Gbps DDoS attacks have become common occurrences
Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks with an average bandwidth of over 20Gbps have become commonplace this year, according to researchers from from DDoS mitigation vendor Prolexic.
Last year such high-bandwidth attacks were isolated incidents, but attacks that exceed 20Gbps in bandwidth occur frequently now, Prolexic's president Stuart Scholly said Tuesday.
