New High Tech Copper and more
IBM has developed new chip technology called CMOS 95. This uses new high speed transitors and allows circuits as small as .13 microns. This new technology supposedly allows the chip to run 25 - 30 times faster than the chips currently in production. This means multi-gigahertz chips for the home user (eventually).

They realised this, and started work on the FOP32-1 which is now one of the most used and popular choice for anyone which has an Athlon or Duron. The FOP38 was then released for extra performance.

NVIDIA has agreed to support and release new drivers and software for 3DFX products till February 2002. Voodoo5 5500 AGP and PCI will still be made available. I was shown an inter-manager memo by a manager at Electronics Boutique stating such.
