We often hear that IT is not aligned with the business, which is a catchall concept loosely meaning that business leaders and IT folks do not understand each other's goals. Although differences in perspective and goals between these groups do exist, the gaps are difficult to measure, quantify, or even describe precisely. Nonetheless, these differences in goals and expectations are real.

Mega-Launch: A fake FBI raid, dancing girls - oh, and human rights!
Kim Dotcom may see himself as being at war with Hollywood, but the man has quite a sense of theatrics himself. The show he put on for the world tonight at his mansion outside Auckland was audacious and loud, featuring a Maori-themed musical performance by Tiki Taane, a raid re-enactment complete with helicopters marked "FBI," and dancing girls clad in military-style dress (but with miniskirts). That's how Dotcom announced his new service, Mega, to the world.

Most IT pros do not trust cloud services with sensitive data
Just over half of IT professionals who focus on cloud computing do not trust cloud services for any of their personal data, a survey has revealed.
Some 86% of those polled by Lieberman Software said they do not trust the cloud for their organisation’s more sensitive data, and 88% said that they believe that there is a chance that the data their organisation keeps in the cloud could be lost, corrupted or accessed by unauthorised individuals.

Over Half Of Chief Information Officers Fail To Test Cloud Vendors' Security Systems & Procedures
Cybersecurity tops CIO’s concerns, with 84% of CIOs stating that they are either concerned or very concerned about the risks associated with IT security breaches. Yet while security issues remain the biggest concern that CIOs have about migrating their technology functions to the cloud, less than half (45%) test cloud vendors’ security systems and procedures.
