Scour Gets The Napster Treatment

Saw this over at HNN

The RIAA and MPAA have crossed their Rubicon. Having launched suits against Napster and computing magazine 2600, the music and film industry have picked the next target in the war against copyright infringement, file sharing company Scour. Scour faces the double-whammy. Not only do they allow music file sharing but their search engine leads to video shares as well. Combine deep pockets and armies of lawyers and you get what could be a lawsuit marathon. (despite the recording industry flap over Napster, some stats seem to indicate that file sharing actually increases music purchases -- see Industry Standard)
