Pokemon Go perfect storm turns tiny park into suburban nightmare
Pokemon Go continues to polarise, but it's possibly hated nowhere more than the residential suburb of Rhodes in Sydney, Australia. Peg Paterson Park, a small park in the usually quiet neighbourhood, has become a hub for would-be Pokemon trainers, thanks to a configuration of three PokeStops, points of interest where players can get items and place lures to attract Pokemon.
This has resulted in a nightly pilgrimage of hundreds of players, and residents are displeased. In addition to the noise levels, Pokemon players are disrupting traffic and leaving litter behind, and the once green park has been trampled down to mud. In desperation, the local council has written to Niantic to request that two of the three PokeStops be removed.
