IT salaries rise by 2%

IT salaries in the UK have gone up two percent over the last 12 months, according to IT recruitment agency CV Screen, with the average salary for an IT professional now standing at £39,750.

The agency's survey of the IT Jobs market looked at 50 IT roles and monitored more than 8,000 advertised positions in the UK during the first quarter of 2012. It then compared the figures with the same period the previous year.

CV Screen managing director Matthew Iveson said: "It is no surprise that IT salaries continue to rise as the IT sector is one which has suffered less than other sectors in what has been a challenging jobs market. The last 12 months has seen increased demand for IT staff."
