Is Crypto Solely for Criminals?

Interesting outlook from an article on IDG detailing the use of encryption, and the negative campaigns against it. "When the Feds -- be they CIA, FBI, NSA, or Treasury Department -- discuss crypto, they make it sound as if anyone using it must be a child pornographer, drug smuggler, or terrorist." I wonder if the government feels the same about corporations encrypting their business plans in order to avoid having them stolen. Here's the article.

crypto oh crypto
oh.... can't help it, but all this talk about crypto is kinda orgasmic..... crypto's really sexy.....
anywais, IMHO, FBI and NSA are just spreading fear and threat to crypto users. Is there any evidence that say, Laden was using cryto to communicate? Was child pornographers emails that was captured (if there was any) encrypted? where are the proofs?
and, does it make sense for terrorists to use crypto? it does, to an extent, but what extent?
the real motive here is that by linking cryto users with criminals. the big brothers are trying to scare and deter people from using it, because, when they don't, then, reading their e-mails will be much easier. however, people are smarter these days, I hope, and won't fall for such childish tricks.
in my company, hah, i'm the only one who signs my e-mails - and my boss was never bothered.
